This will be the Dumpsta Players’ final show at Bob and Barbara’s Lounge. The Dumpsta Players will continue to create original content for their television show on PhillyCAM, viewable on Comcast 66 and Verizon Fios 29/30 on Tuesdays at Midnight and Sundays at 11:00pm.

“Keeping Up With The #Botox”

Keeping Up With The BotoxThe Dumpsta Players take on the blurred line between entertainment and politics in “Keeping Up With The #Botox.” Philly girl Amanda Playwythe goes to Hollywood to make it big and encounters a has-been producer who introduces her to 70s sitcom stars “All in the Family’s” Sally Struthers and “M*A*S*H’s” Loretta Swit. Amanda’s odyssey takes her to a Donald Trump fundraiser with Kim Katrashian, Jake Jellyhole, and Adele.

PhillyCAM operates Philadelphia’s public access television network. PhillyCAM is a community media center that brings together the people of Philadelphia to make and share media that promotes creative expression, democratic values and civic participation.

The Dumpsta Players’ final show at Bob and Barbara’s Lounge will be “Prom Trash All-Stars,” held on April 20, 2016. The Dumpsta Players will continue to create original content for their television show on PhillyCAM.

“OctoberFist Nein”

Octoberfist NeinThe Dumpsta Players take a trip back to the Old Country, when villages ruled the landscapes and their inhabitants worked together for a common goal, celebrating through song and dance, or warding off evil spirits lurking in the forest. Music cues feature selections from international singing contest Eurovision, a German version of Black Sabbath’s metal classic “Paranoid,” and teenage Puerto Rican boy band Menudo’s tribute to “Xanadu.”

After a two-year absence, The Dumpsta Players’ favorite intergalactic avenger Chardonna Jenkins returns in “Bionic Beatdown” to take on the current media and celebrity landscape, where talking heads pass judgment instead of simply reporting the news. Newscasters are becoming not only the judge and jury, but also in their own way celebrities. In “Bionic Beatdown” Chardonna’s targets include Foxx News’ Lisa Jones, Taylor Swifty, and Piggy Azalea.

The Village is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to neighborhood revitalization through the arts. It has blossomed into a mature arts and cultural organization carrying out a broad range of community development programs.

The Dumpsta Players invites audience members to compete for the title of “Miss Prom Trash.” Relive your prom experience the way it should have been! Contestants will be joined by aging amputee and heiress Zsa Zsa Gabor, departed comedy queen Joan Rivers, and late Broadway legend Elaine Bitch.

A portion of proceeds benefit Books Through Bars.

Based in Philadelphia, PA, Books Through Bars is an all-volunteer nonprofit that distributes free books and educational materials to incarcerated people in PA, NJ, NY, MD, DE, VA and WV. They also offer programs that educate and engage the general public to think critically about issues of imprisonment. Each week, they receive hundreds of letters from prisoners requesting books. Each year they send over 8,000 book packages.

A portion of proceeds benefit Philly AIDS Thrift.

Philly AIDS Thrift’s goal is to sell the lovely, useful, interesting, amusing, and sometimes mysterious stuff generous people donate to their thrift store and then distribute the proceeds to local organizations involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

It’s an evening of massive shoulder pads and epic cat Dynasty Realnessfights as the Dumpsta Players perform their tribute to 80s nighttime soap, “Dynasty”!

In honor of friends who recently passed from cancer, including Charlotte CardonickGloria Casarez and Dumpsta Players performer, Sarah Marshall, a portion of the proceeds from this performance will go to the Sara Weaver Fund. Sara succumbed to leukemia in 2002.
