It's rare to ever look a moment head on and know that it will change your life. It's only in hindsight, after you've already become the butterfly, that you realize how you've become who you are. Being a Dumpsta Player has been a defining moment in my life for allowing me to reach a voice I never realized I had.
In my everyday life, I'm typically a quiet type, unless fueled by a couple of B&B three-dollar specials. Getting into character allows me to have a foul-tempered and disruptive side without any of the consequences. You can get away with a lot when you're in character!
If you've been fortunate enough to see the Dumpstas perform, you will see a troupe that truly loves what they do. There is an energy in these shows that is unmatched by most of what Philly nightlife has to offer. For a good hour or so, you've forgotten all about real life and are transported to our wacky world of mayhem and tomfoolery. As good entertainment does, you get soaked into the scene.
